Kim has passionately evolved as an artist and arts educator for over 25 years. She draws heavily on her Northern Ontario roots for inspiration in her encaustic paintings. The Greenstone region where she loves to trek through the woods exploring old mining sites, the lakeshores and rugged forests, inspires her sense of colour and imagery.

Kim loves the endless, exciting possibilities that encaustic offers as a medium.

Rich colours and tactile textures! Translucent layers, photo imagery and natures’ treasures, are a few of the intriguing elements built into her encaustic panels.

The paintings, like life need to be experienced firsthand. Their complex layers are woven together as one unified piece but invite the viewer to come close and really enjoy the intricacies.
