Pat’s work begins with high quality white yarns of silk, tencel, wool, cotton or rayon. This year the new yarn is bamboo and because of its unique properties it has become a favourite for dyeing and weaving. The yarns are measured out into warp lengths, and then painted with dyes, similar to a watercolour painting. Colours blend and develop, each warp being different, all this before the weaving begins. Limited runs of fabric make sure that each piece is one of a kind. Ikat, woven shibori and most recently surface design add a unique and out of the ordinary feature to the garments and accessories, all produced solely by this fibre artist.
