Growing up in a small rural town in Ontario, Canada isolated me from the city during most of my adolescence. The quiet and visually stimulating landscape influenced an ultimate explosion of expression. I have been constantly looking for ways to express years of built up excitement and admiration in the aesthetics of my environment.

My work allows you to appreciate the material, its sensibility, and your relationship to its simplistic existence. I photograph and crop familiar objects, transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary. Through paint and abstraction I recycle a manufactured environment or object and transform it into an unrecognizable surface of shape, line and texture. I create new meaning in the objects I paint, stripping them of their manufactured duty.
